Many of you may have spotted the recent story in the press regarding an unusual dessert served at a popular fish and chip venue in Norfolk. The fried jam sandwich made recent national headlines and even saw Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond doing a taste test of it on ITV’s This Morning, which was developed by Eric Snaith who owns and operates Eric's Fish and Chips. The tasty treat began trending following praise from none other than celebrity chef Delia Smith! During a visit to Eric’s branch in Holt, the renowned chef tried the sandwich and deemed it 'sensational'. She was so impressed that she not only recommended them to others, but she’s also added them to her own menu!
Delia says "When we first saw the deep-fried jam sandwich on the menu in Eric's we were a bit sceptical, but the friends we were with ordered it and so did we. The rest is history.
"It was so amazing we cheekily asked Eric if we could serve it in Yellows Bar and Grill to bring it into the city, and our customers, just like us, love it. The only way we can describe it is 'think doughnut, only even better'."
Here at It’s a Wrap we’re always thrilled to hear about our customers' success, but we couldn’t help being extra excited at spotting Eric’s Fish & Chips branded greaseproof paper in all the media photographs. What awesome brand awareness for the business! Every photo of the popular dessert was shown clearly alongside the Eric’s brand and allows readers (both at the time and in the future) the opportunity to associate the Eric’s brand with the delicious dessert…something which will hopefully increase footfall at the already popular branch!
Eric tells us “When someone comes to eat with us at Eric’s Fish and Chips, they enjoy a complete customer experience. That starts even before they enter the store. There are lots of customer touch points we consider. A good way to connect and remind customers of the uniqueness of our food and the ambience of our settings is through use of branded greaseproof. That’s why we serve some of our smaller dishes and desserts on branded greaseproof. It is an important touchpoint that enhances the whole brand experience.”
We couldn’t agree more Eric!! If you’d like to ensure your popular dishes are served alongside your brand then drop us a message for a free sample pack.
