Like most people at the end of the year, we love to look back and reflect on what’s happened. We also love to reflect on some of the amazing designs we’ve had the pleasure of putting out to print. As you can imagine, our team work with thousands of designs through the year so it’s hard to have a favourite. However, now and again a design comes along which stops us in our tracks, going the extra mile to really grab attention.
We asked our UK sales team to select a few of their favourites designs from 2024…
Heist Bar and Grill
It’s fun, it’s colourful and it’s definitely memorable! The use of the black and white zebra pattern provides a strong, eye-catching contrast, creating an edgy, bold foundation for the design. Zebra patterns often evoke a sense of energy and can introduce a touch of wild, untamed style. In this case, it serves as a bold backdrop that doesn't overpower the other elements but rather sets a lively tone. The contrast between the black and white stripes and the bright, playful flamingos and monkeys creates a pop of energy and adds visual interest as well as tying in with the Heist’s tropical theme. It’s an absolute winner for us!
Sweet Joes
Yes, it's a step and repeat pattern, but this colourful design just goes to show that sometimes, less is more. The punchy reds and blues contrast perfectly and really leap out from the white background – there’s no missing this branding when you walk down the street. However, when you look closely at the logo design, it’s not as simple as it first seems, there’s a star above the J and the font almost looks like it’s been piped thanks to the highlights. The cute cookie letter O gives you a hint of what’s being sold and we absolutely love the little spoon right at the top of the design. Perfectly created and it works on so many levels; whether it’s seen during street dining, in social media imagery, or used to keep goodies safe in a box.
Curry Bae
This colourful design has more to it that you might appreciate at first glance. Looking more closely you’ll notice some subtle additions at play which keep you looking for more details. The faded wash of logos in the background, along with the food themed icons help to hold interest, all whilst ensuring the main run of logos remain prominent enough to stand out when viewed at a distance. Then there’s the inclusion of a QR code which, in today’s mobile phone loving world, ensures customers are lead directly to the marketing material Curry Bae chooses – that could be a menu, special offer, loyalty scheme or details about their suppliers. Smart choices!
East Yard Containers - Folkestone Fish Shack Menu
We love seeing branded greaseproof paper used in a different way, which is why we had to include this fabulous menu design amongst our favourites. This lively, black and white style not only ensures the menu is noticeable but also easy to read. The fun artwork sea creatures tie in with the brand and raises a smile whilst ordering those amazing fish and chips.
Greaseproof paper menus are a great multipurpose product as they can be used for table settings, adding inside existing orders for upselling opportunities, or simply handed out as guests arrive.
Tattu – Snow Dragon Circles
More and more brands are experimenting with a range of new styles, shapes and colours but one which consistently stands out from the crowd is Tattu. This incredible artwork doesn’t need explaining, it’s stunning and the intricacy of the image proves to diners that every detail matters. Placed in their steamer baskets, Tattu’s dragon greaseproof design provides the wow factor delivered by every aspect of their dining experience. Definitely the gold standard in greaseproof design!
