Custom Printed Greaseproof Paper
We thought we’d pay one of our first customers' to have It’s a Wrap custom printed greaseproof, a visit, to see how they were getting on with our product and what they were using it for?
Evergreen Art Cafe, what a delight it was. When we had the first enquiry from them to produce branded greaseproof paper, I was sure they would have a fascinating venue, but a trip to Evergreen Art Cafe proved to be a feast for both visual and taste stimuli.
As you can see from our pictures, Evergreen Art Café is an Art Gallery with a difference. It’s also a place to enjoy contemporary café style, wholesome dining, with a real slant on local produce and tasty home made delights.
Inside the cafe are a range of different mood areas, matched by the artwork on the walls and the general décor. The main dining café room alongside the serving counter, is like a traditional artisan coffee shop, and then there is a basement level, complete with a mix of modern pop style artwork, and old fashioned school furniture - through to front of house leather sofas and coffee tables, and even an upstairs cool and airy split level chill zone.
Simon Williams, Evergreen’s owner, is rightly proud and passionate about his business. He told me that when someone launches their own business, it becomes like a part of their family. After all, in most cases an individual invests time, energy and finances, (risking an income by leaving a lucrative existing career) to embark on their adventure. “The brand and the look and feel of the brand becomes the most precious part of your business,” said Simon.
"The whole concept of the art café, he said, was about making artwork accessible. Typically, galleries are about white walled environments and austere sales managers breathing down your neck. It certainly used to put me off looking at art galleries, he said. Whereas everyone feels comfortable and can enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake, or a good value, but upmarket café lunch." Simon explained that customers from all walks of life will happily feel they can come into a café to sit and relax and look at the art.
So what did you want our wrap for Simon? I asked him.
Well you might have noticed, I’m rather fastidious about my brand said Simon.
I had noticed him earlier walking around the gallery checking on positions of chairs and food being served. “I want everything we do to be part of the overall Evergreen experience, he commented. “We use the Greaseproof paper to present our food on wood boards, platter style, said Simon showing me a small piece also lines their metal baskets for sauces. It adds to the presentation and our customers compliment us on how good our food looks when it is served. We try to make everything look artistic including the presentation of the food.
The pork pie platter is from a company called Brays Cottage in Norfolk, and an award winning rich chicken liver pate is from Brixworth All their quiches are made from a local Northamptonshire bakery. Moreover, their own chef makes fresh soups, chilli’s and stews. Sandwiches are also made to order and some of the cakes and their delicious chocolate brownies are made on site. Cakes and brownies are a little less messy served wrapped in a piece of Evergreen branded greaseproof paper, I was advised.
"We use the branded greaseproof to line our take out boxes too, said Simon, it takes our product from a plain carton to a branded item, without costing the earth. It works really well with the branded cup sleeves that you also printed for us. It’s a great way of spreading the word once people have left your premises," says Simon.
